- Your size is expensive or hard to find new on short notice
When new tires are the better value
- You are replacing all four and plan to keep the vehicle
- You drive long highway miles regularly
- You want the longest possible tread life per dollar
- Your vehicle is all-wheel drive and requires closely matched tread depths
- You want a warranty behind the tire
What makes a used tire acceptable
Not every used tire belongs on a car. We check remaining tread depth, look for uneven wear, plugs and previous repairs, inspect the sidewall and inner liner, and consider the age of the tire.
