Where the puncture is matters most
Repairs are generally limited to the tread area — the part of the tire that contacts the road. The sidewall and the shoulder flex constantly as you drive, and a repair there cannot be trusted to hold.
- Tread area puncture within size limits: usually repairable
- Sidewall or shoulder damage: not repairable
- Large hole or gash: not repairable
- Tire driven while flat: often has hidden internal damage
- Multiple close-together repairs: usually not recommended
Why the tire comes off the wheel
A repair done from the outside alone cannot show you what happened inside. We dismount the tire, inspect the inner liner for damage from running low on air, then repair it properly and rebalance the wheel.
When replacement is the smarter call
If the tire is already near the end of its tread life, spending money on a repair may not make sense. In that case we will show you both new and used options so you can pick what fits your budget.
